14 days

Oops. 14 days have lapsed since I've blogged. Lots going on. I was entertaining for a week--my very good friend and college roommate came to visit from Montana with her sweet little two year old. It was a great time and an excellent excuse to check out the Bronx Zoo and Moma. I saw some really beautiful giraffes, a fat tapir and a bunch of sleeping monkeys. Must have been union.

Moma was great. Next time must remember to bring my sketch book. It's an all star cast--all of my favorites hanging out in a row--Matisse, Cezanne, Gaugin, Dali, Picasso, Jasper Johns...I could spend hours there with my face pressed up as close as the guard will allow studying every stroke. Ack, I need to PAINT! But for the moment, I am serving up a logo, a 40 page brochure, 5 websites and an illustration of greenwich, ct buildingscape. not to mention, designing a wedding program, a wedding website...figuring out a way to not spend a million dollars on flowers...running, biking and mt. biking...lifting weights and yoga and somewhere in there...maybe...a little sleep. phew.

Reality

What is our obsession with reality? It just struck how much blogging is one big reality show. It's interesting to see what's going on in other people's lives. It's reassuring to see that there are other people thinking similar thoughts--or exciting to see how they're not.

I think this all started back way back in the early 90's with the Netscape fish-cam which of course evolved into the 'jenny cam'... a sneak peak into someone else's day to day.

after this craze burns off, what's next, escapism?
Actually.....the irony of 'reality' is that it is escapism....all that time spent watching and wondering about other people is just a vaca from our own lives...
